Cyberthing [Science Fiction Roleplay]

Spy is a peculiar Insilico resident. In a city where most try to hide their past, in a way or another, spy actually seeks it actively, being driven by the desire to discover his past, often pushing him to actions he doesn’t always condone. Keeping his cool and relaxed look, he can often be deceiving in his violent nature when he wishes to accomplish something. The turmoil of emotions that permeate his mutating brain drive him from one extreme of behaviors from the holiness of his personal crusade to the ruthless and sometimes vicious pursuit of revenge on those that stray him from his objectives and step in his way.

That much he knows but aside from that most of his life is a dark blur without memories. What he does know was that for some reason Gemini Cybernetics rebuilt their body with an experimental procedure, effectively raising him from the death at some point in his past life, with the side-effect of wiping all his memories in the process. Why he needed to undergo such dangerous procedure, the causes and motivations that lead to it can only now start to be discovered, and he keeps wondering to what extent did his loss of memory was unintentional or not…

From time to time spy seems to have small recollections of what could be called memories, sounds, tastes, faces or locations that for some reason evoke a familiar feeling… often, they are not – or just impossible to ascertain if true or just an artifact that arises from the unique molecular arrangement the nanobots in his body produce
every time he shape shifts his form, which can cause significant alterations in his brain neurological network patch.

This talent of his, from which the experiment was aimed at, though highly powerful and potentially profitable, is far from being a safe technology and one the corporation could make money from selling it… at least for now. Unfortunately, or not, spy is now an obsolete technology for the Gemini Corporation, since they moved on to a new experimental prototype model. From that day on spy was cast out from the corporation labs and thrown at the deep end of Insilico city, left to his own fate – an obsolete experiment, just an expensive out-of-date toy…

However despite requiring constant maintenance to sustain himself alive, spy managed to survive the first few weeks on his own and in time he found an alternative access to the expensive and rare plasma regeneration containers that he requires to regenerate his body and recharge his nanobots each time after he undergoes a shape shifting mutation.

It’s a thin line to walk on and survive… and nearly dying each minute longer he spends shifted and without regeneration treatment. Never the less spyVspy persistence makes him a worthy foe and a valuable asset to have available for anyone with enough money to buy his services. Hence he manages to survive in this harsh city and pursue his quest of unveiling his past and finding himself, his history, his soul… Just another lone face in a dark city, but one with so many faces yet to be unveiled.
